Celebrating America 250 with Lee Greenwood!

Happy 250th Birthday America!
My family was blessed to celebrate America 250 in the nation’s capitol with Lee Greenwood. As we continue to celebrate this milestone throughout the year, below is a link to 250 events that transformed America into what it is today. It reveals the rich (and sometimes unexpected) story of our nation.
The United States of America has a very impressive and unique track record, considering our country has existed for a relatively short period of time in the scope of world history.
Our Founding Fathers were brilliant, and divinely assisted, in crafting a cornerstone, rock-solid plan for a free and thriving society that would ultimately set the gold standard for countries and societies around the world.
To this day, we continue to bravely forge ahead, navigating waters that others cannot or will not take on. We are truly the ‘Home of the Free and the Brave’!
God Bless America!

“Representative Carol Ammons should resign immediately. The people of Illinois deserve elected officials who uphold the highest ethical standards and respect taxpayer dollars,” Miller said. “Unfortunately, Illinois Democrats have repeatedly failed to enact meaningful ethics reforms that hold public officials accountable and restore trust in government. Illinois families deserve honest and transparent representation.”
In the span of just over a month, three members of a Champaign County family have been indicted on federal charges including pandemic/unemployment fraud, wire fraud, making a false statement and obstruction charges.
On July 7, the latest federal criminal indictments were filed, this time against Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons, a former drug dealer, and his wife, State Representative Carol Ammons, who has served as Democrat State Representative of the 103rd District since 2015, on a series of criminal charges.
The latest indictments against Carol & Aaron Ammons include wire fraud, making a false statement to the FBI, and obstruction charges, as well as receiving alleged personal cash kickbacks.
Controversy has continuously dogged the Ammons’ public service:
- Rep. Carol Ammons arrested (though, not charged) for shoplifting a purse from a local charitable resale store
- County Clerk Aaron Ammons served prison time for dealing hard drugs before receiving a pardon from Governor Pat Quinn
- Their daughter, Champaign County Board member and Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Titianna Ammons, stands accused by the US Department of Justice of unemployment benefit fraud between October 2020 and October 2021.
Despite these many, recent corruption cases, Illinois Democrats who control the state legislature still refuse to pass the meaningful ethics reform necessary to stop the grift in Illinois politics and restore trust in government for the people of Illinois.
We need much more oversight of the government grants we are handing out to NGOs –
And we need more honest legislators!
Listen to my interview on the scandal.

Why Do Illinois Democrats Keep Getting Away With It?
Simple answer: Because they can.
There are too many headlines to list here, but this is just a recent smattering of examples of what happens when derelict, power hungry, self-enriching politicians are given free reign over the people and the resources they are supposed to protect and represent in Springfield.
They hide ethics investigations:

Illinois Gun Ban Case Upheld by 7th Circuit – Now the Fight Moves to the U.S. Supreme Court
I will always defend our 2A Constitutional Rights and I am confident the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn this decision and restore our rights.
Illinois Democrats’ beloved gun ban has been upheld after a three-judge panel of the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals issued a ruling on the case that was heard in September 2025.
Some are claiming that activist judges handed down this decision, but ultimately the Supreme Court of the United States will be the final arbiter.

Meanwhile, none of the criminals that are arrested for gun violations on the streets of Chicago abide by any of the Democrat gun laws. The Democrats are only trying to regulate law-abiding legal gun owners. The Protecting Illinois Communities Act is a joke – it hasn’t done anything to stem the violence on the streets.

Rep. Miller Says The University of Illinois Should Focus on Education, Not ‘All-Ages’ Drag Shows
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign recently hosted an ‘All-Ages’ drag show at its publicly funded Spurlock Museum and encouraged all children and families to attend. The university is backing the event despite public backlash and said the event was designed to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride. State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) says taxpayer-funded universities such as the University of Illinois have an obligation to educate and not promote perverted ideologies.
“The radical left continues to target our children with perverted programs and then blame Washington for cutting funding to public universities who refuse to follow federal laws.” Miller said. “It’s outrageous to me that the state of Illinois is focused more on indoctrination of our children than to teach them about rewarding educational programs that sets them up for success in life.”
The event was promoted across campus as an opportunity to enjoy tea, lemonade, sweet treats, British tea culture, drag performances, and private guided museum tours to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride.
State Representative Chris Miller is leading efforts to protect women’s sports as the Chief Sponsor of HB 2823, a bill that creates the Gender in Sports Act. He also Co-Sponsors HB 4482, a bill that would prohibit gender reassignment procedures for minors in the state of Illinois.

Now They’re Going After Our Water

Illinois’ energy situation is an ongoing mess, and now we might have to add water and sewage to the looming disaster. Customers across Illinois could be facing higher water and sewage bills as the state’s largest private water utilities seek rate increases and permission to merge. The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) has to weigh the individual cases (read the details in the link below), but the watchdog group Citizens Utility Board is calling on the ICC to reject the merger.
Gov. JB Pritzker recently signed legislation that requires the ICC to offer public forums for customer feedback on future rate cases, but the bill doesn’t take effect until Jan. 1.
The ICC is expected to rule on the proposed merger in November and the Illinois American rate case in December. You can be sure there will be plenty of political posturing taking place between now and then.
Don’t be shocked if Illinois Democrats find a way to make money off of our oxygen next.
FYI- These are the people who make up the ICC:
