State Rep. Chris Miller Issues Statement After Carol Ammon’s Scandal

Hindsboro, IL…Following the announcement that State Representative Carol Ammons and her husband have been indicted by a federal grand jury on allegations involving taxpayer-funded grants and campaign-related activity, State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) issued the following statement:

“Representative Carol Ammons should resign immediately. The people of Illinois deserve elected officials who uphold the highest ethical standards and respect taxpayer dollars,” Miller said. “Unfortunately, Illinois Democrats have repeatedly failed to enact meaningful ethics reforms that hold public officials accountable and restore trust in government. Illinois families deserve honest and transparent representation.”

According to the federal indictment, prosecutors allege Representative Ammons used her position to direct hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants to organizations connected to her family and that she participated in schemes involving campaign contributions and nonprofit funds.
