Newsletter from Rep. Miller: More Bad Energy Policies from Democrats

Will 2026 Be Any Different?

It remains to be seen, but this AM560 radio interview with Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon lays out the reasons why we should expect more of the same.

The realities we face can feel overwhelming, but there are a few steps we can take to minimize our stress and forge ahead together:

  • Stay focused on the present and only one simple problem at a time that is right in front of you.
  • Don’t let your thoughts control you. Many of them are just an illusion.
  • DO something to make it better. Things can change pretty quickly when you start doing and stop overthinking.

More Bad Energy Policies from Democrats

Claiming he’s addressing Illinois’ looming energy shortages, Governor Pritzker recently signed Senate bill 25, also know as the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, or CRGA. It includes taxpayer-funded subsidies for battery storage and it will create a “virtual power plants” aimed at harvesting wind and solar energy from homes and businesses to help fuel the power grid.

CRGA sounds like more experimental policies that are unlikely to produce any lasting, successful results, but this article lays out both sides of the argument for this bill:

AND Pritzker had the audacity to blame President Trump for higher electric bills!

Meanwhile, Peoples Gas has filed a $202.3 million rate hike request with the Illinois Commerce Commission. If approved in full, typical residential Peoples Gas customers can expect to pay $10-11 more per month starting in 2027. Peoples Gas said the hike is needed to meet the order that ICC itself gave them to retire over 1,000 miles of old iron pipes that carry natural gas underneath Chicago.

Democrats don’t have a strong energy plan, just a self-serving political agenda.

How Illinois Has Changed Under Pritzker

Governor Pritzker thinks he should be President of the United States, but his track record in Illinois begs to differ. Higher taxes, more spending, a sputtering economy, failing public schools and budget disasters do not bode well for making his dream a reality.

Here are just some of the ways he and his Supermajority Democrats are failing Illinoisans:

State Rep. Chris Miller said Illinois should be audited to the fullest extent:

“I’m glad to see that we have real leaders from President Trump’s administration that cares about targeting fraud, eliminating waste, and holding crooks accountable for abusing taxpayer funds,” Miller said. “JB Pritzker refuses to except the fact that he has created a complete disaster in Illinois because of the radical policies he supports. I think every state agency should be audited to the fullest extent to ensure Illinois tax dollars are not being exploited.”

(The Center Square) – Nearly a billion federal taxpayer dollars for child care and family assistance programs are being withheld from the state of Illinois.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced it would freeze $10 billion from five states. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday said their goal is clear.

“The Department of Health and Human Services has also begun requiring a justification and photo evidence for all child care-related payments nationwide,” Leavitt said.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said all told, approximately $1 billion could be impacted for the Land of Lincoln. Pritzker said the freeze is “wrong, it is cruel,” and the state will take every step possible to defend those impacted.

HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill said that should be easy.

“We’re not trying to slow things down, we’re not slowing things down, we’re just saying ‘when states send us a funding request for a legitimate program,’ we’re going to start saying ‘just show us some receipts,’” O’Neill told The Center Square….read more.

Illinois Is Forcing Ideology on Its Employees — and Calling It ‘Training’

By: Mark Glennon*

Parts of America’s political left have awoken in their own way. They’ve seen the backlash against DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) extremism and backed off, at least a little. One liberal think tank, for example, recently published a memo advising the left to drop much of the DEI language it spawned. The language makes the left “sound like the extreme, divisive, elitist, and obfuscatory, enforcers of wokeness,” says the memo.

But the State of Illinois didn’t get that memo. In fact, it’s much worse: The state’s mandatory, annual training for its workers demands obedience to the worst of DEI catechism not just on language, but on thoughts and conduct. All state employees are now subject to DEI social engineering that’s as dogmatic and extreme as ever. Disobey and you can be fired. That’s not just tyrannical, it likely would make for a constitutional challenge based on the First Amendment.

This Orwellian employee training was partly exposed last week through a social media post that went viral about the training document used by Illinois State Police. Libs of TikTok published parts of that document, which garnered over 300,000 views on X alone…read more.

Does Anyone In Illinois Have This Kind Of Courage?

A Utah school board member announced she will not seek another term, citing pervasive corruption, and urged parents to immediately remove their children from the state’s public schools.

Christina Boggess was elected to the Utah State Board of Education in 2022 to represent District 8, and she believes that “nearly every (school board) decision is now driven by not-so-hidden agendas, political cowardice, financial kickbacks, and raw personal ambition.” She also slammed Democrats and Republicans alike for allowing and promoting pornography in libraries, radical gender ideology in classrooms, the erosion of academic excellence, and the assault on parental rights.

The Minnesota woman, Renee Nicole Macklin Good, who attempted to ram a federal agent with her SUV, (and was subsequently shot and killed), was an ‘ICE Watch’ warrior who trained to resist federal law enforcement. She was linked to an activist group through her 6 year-old son’s school that brags about ‘involving kids in political and social activism’.

Democrats Are Amazingly Good At Getting It Wrong

Pritzker and his Supermajority Democrats passed the Illinois SAFE-T (Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today) Act in January 2021, and it has now been dubbed ‘the country’s most dangerous law’. This is mainly due to the provision that ended cash bail under the Pretrial Fairness Act, which took effect September 18, 2023.

Arrests and convictions may have decreased as a result of this poorly thought out law, but crime has not. Particularly on the rise are addiction-driven crimes that occur in areas with limited access to treatment.

California’s ‘Bail Project’ spent more than $91 million posting bond for defendants who were later linked to murders. Is this where Illinois is headed?

Democrats also have it completely wrong when it comes to illegal immigration. Between the costs of related health care, housing, food, education, increased law enforcement and other ancillary expenses, Illinois taxpayers have already footed a bill that is well in excess of hundreds of millions of dollars:
