Thursday marked the end of six days on the witness stand for star government witness Fidel Marquez, a ComEd executive-turned-FBI mole who secretly video recorded conversations with his colleagues, including McClain.

Illinois’ firearms ban struck down in federal court. The decision by Judge Stephen McGlynn found that the state law violates both the Second Amendment and the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, requiring him to strike the law down in its entirety. Read more…
Illinois’ Constitution Is Optional
Governor Pritzker and his Democrat Supermajority attempted to ram through gun legislation in 2023 that would ban the sale and possession of more than 170 semi-automatic firearms. The law was recently ruled unconstitutional by Southern District of Illinois federal Judge Stephen McGlynn, but Pritzker & Co. refuse to accept the ruling.
Democrats continue to mask the truth behind their motivation by calling these firearms ‘weapons of war’, and they must get them off the streets. The reality is, the banned semi-automatic weapons are not the same as military-issued firearms, and it’s unconstitutional to ban law abiding citizens from having access to commonly owned firearms.
The focus needs to be on getting DANGEROUS CRIMINALS off the streets and getting people the mental healthcare they need. Let’s work on finding real solutions and spending our limited resources wisely instead of wasting time and money playing dangerous political games.

On so many fronts, Pritzker’s rhetoric only continues to divide Illinois:
American Farm Bureau Federation and Illinois Farm Bureau Must Work Together
On Thursday, State Representative Brad Halbrook and I attended the AFBF meeting and met with President Zippy Duvall to let him know that we depend on them to passionately advocate for farmers. Both entities are supported by farmers to be our voice to elected officials at all levels of government and to other organizations that impact American farming.
As a long-time member of Illinois Farm Bureau, and by extension the American Farm Bureau Federation, I am asking these organizations to settle their differences and work together on behalf of farmers. Farmers in Illinois feel under attack by state government policies that are turning our rich farmland into solar fields and threatening our land with eminent domain takings for new transmission lines. We feel threatened by the high taxes and especially Illinois’ estate tax which will force our children to sell our family farms to pay the government off. We have foreign companies buying up American farms and land and other foreign companies shipping in beef without consumers knowing where it is sourced. We have government subsidies shamefully going to fake meat companies, a total boondoggle. These are just a few examples of issues AFBF and IFB need to be pushing back on.
At this time, my fellow farmers and I want to see AFBF and IFB working together on behalf of farmers and our families. America has a huge opportunity in the next four years to restore common sense policies at all levels of government and we expect those who represent us to do all they can to make that happen.
Protect Family Farms
The estate tax has devastated family farms for decades as these farms are often sold to pay the inheritance tax. It’s time to finally help family farmers pass their farmland on to the next generation, protecting our family farms from being sold off to large corporate or foreign interests.

If J.B. Pritzker and his Supermajority Democrats are continuing to brag about the bang-up job they are doing, why is the state’s budget office projecting $23 billion in deficits over the next five years?
Pritzker and his foot soldiers want to continue their outrageous spending spree and, if they get their way, the state’s budget will have grown by a whopping $23 billion by 2030 – a near 60% increase in little more than a decade.
This kind of irresponsible gluttony keeps the ruling class happy and the lower class comfortably numb. It’s the rest of us who will have to toil, suffer and bear the burden of their delusional fantasy.
Another Illinois Casualty?
Even though Grub Hub is a European-owned company, it is headquartered in Chicago.
During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a surge in demand for takeout meals, and Amsterdam-based ‘Just Eat Takeaway.com’ bought Grub Hub for $7.3 billion. Just recently, they sold the company to Wonder Group, a New York based food ordering company, for $650 million- a fraction of what they originally paid for it.
Whether Grub Hub headquarters will stay in Chicago remains to be seen.
