Concealed Carry Ban on Public Transit Ruled Unconstitutional

Capitol News Illinois file photo

A federal judge recently ruled a state law unconstitutional because it bans concealed firearms from public transit systems. This is another law crafted by Democrats that stomps on the Constitutional rights of Illinois citizens. According to Capitol News Illinois, the judge’s ruling only applies to four individuals who challenged it in court and the law will remain in effect for everyone else. Equal rights should apply to every citizen, but our state is picking and choosing who can exercise their Second Amendment Rights.

Pritzker said, “I’m hopeful that the law that was passed in Illinois a number of years ago, that’s frankly done a lot to keep people safe, will be upheld.” I would argue that law-abiding citizens want personal protection because Chicago crime is out-of-control and Democrats let criminals run amok. Illinois citizens need safety and security from government and local law enforcement. People should not have to feel threatened commuting to work or the grocery store, but they do under Democrat policies. Every American citizen has the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms under the U.S. Constitution.

Now Volvo Backs Away from EVs

From the Committee to Unleash Prosperity

“Another car company bites the dust:
Volvo was the first car manufacturer to pledge to sell only electric vehicles by 2030. Now it has joined a dozen other firms in scaling back its EV ambitions.
Volvo chief commercial officer Bjorn Annwall admits: “Fully electric cars also need to be profitable” and it’s all “about adjusting to reality.”

You Think Businesses WANT To Leave Illinois?

They never wanted to play the game. They were forced to be IN the game.

In order to survive and thrive, Illinois companies have had to cut jobs or leave the state’s hostile business environment altogether. Illinois companies announced 1,190 mass layoffs in July, with John Deere leading the state in job cuts for a second month by shedding another 319 employees.

Illinois’ unemployment rate for July tied for the 2nd worst in the country and has a low national ranking in the nation for business tax climate (down 8 spots from 2018 according to the Tax Foundation’s 2024 Business Tax Climate report).

This Illinois Policy article shows where most of the Illinois job losses occurred:https://www.illinoispolicy.org/1190-illinois-jobs-shed-in-july-with-deere-leading-for-2nd-month/

He Said It Out Loud

Thinking he was among like-minded cohorts, Illinois Senate Majority Leader, Don Harmon (pictured above) let down his guard at the Democrat National Convention and said this:

“Democrats don’t win without organized labor and organized labor puts everything at risk when Democrats don’t win. We gotta stick together.”

Hm. Sounds a lot like ‘quid pro quo’.

Especially in light of Democrats recently killing the only school choice program Illinois had (the Invest In Kids Act). It was privately funded and very successful, but Teachers Unions wanted it GONE because it made the failing Illinois public school system look bad.

Illinois Needs Ethics Reform

Illinois’ elite players are in this Party together, and you’re not invited.

Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s (D-Chicago) recent trial has put Illinois’ corrupt political system under the spotlight. Many Illinois lawmakers expect to become lobbyists after their tenure, but they’re also allowed to hold jobs while they’re legislators which creates an environment ripe for corruption.

Current law says state lawmakers are banned from registering as lobbyists within six months of leaving office. The six-month ban only applies when lawmakers attempt to lobby the General Assembly they served in. A lawmaker leaving office the day before a new General Assembly could forego the “cooling off” period.

Governor J.B. Pritzker did not prioritize amending a 2021 omnibus ethics bill to make the waiting period longer.

Racism Views People Based On The Color Of Their Skin

And you, ma’am, are a racist.

But riding the ‘racism wave’ is big business these days. Evanston Township High School District #202 School Board President Pat Savage-Williams (pictured above) is targeting white parents, educators, policymakers and other community stakeholders.

She attended a ‘White Privilege’ conference in Arizona in 2023 and has since been taking her show on the road. (You can see a copy of her presentation in the article link below.)

In addition to her position as board president, Savage-Williams works as director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at a high school in the district, according to her employee profile. Her base salary in the 2022-2023 school year was $149,478.

Opportunity Trumps Handouts Every Single Time

Illinois is now the seventh highest state in the country issuing its residents Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Federal government data shows nearly two million residents, or one out of every seven Illinoisans, are now reported to be receiving federal food assistance, leaving the state with 237,383 more SNAP recipients than before the pandemic.

But Illinois’ Democrat Supermajority wants to dole out more, which clearly shows us their priorities. Rather than providing a quality education system, job training and actual JOBS, they would rather keep people dependent on government handouts that are meant to help people through difficult times.

REAL leaders treat people with the dignity and respect they deserve.
