Illinois Democrats Reject Decency
October 28, 2021 – The Illinois House, in the dark of night, has passed an amendment that eliminates the protections granted to Illinois residents under the Healthcare Right of Conscious Act and eliminated Parental Notification of Abortion.
I released the following statement in response:
“Last night, Democrats did two things that you need to know about:
First, they passed an amendment to the Illinois Healthcare Right of Conscience Act that takes away the protections you had to refuse healthcare that violates your beliefs. They actually limited the autonomy you have over your own body. They did this at the bidding of our dictator governor, with his never ending executive edicts, who believes he can AND SHOULD subject you to mandatory “healthcare.”
Next, despite the fact that the vast majority of Illinois residents support parental notification of abortion, they forced through a bill to repeal it! Illinois Democrats just took away a parent’s right and responsibility to know when their minor child undergoes a serious medical procedure.
Democrats call decent people of faith all kinds of horrible names, but what they have done has only one name: Evil. John 3:20 says, “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.” Well, they may not come to the light, but we can shine a light on their choices.”
WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?
- Parents or guardians will never know if their daughter has become pregnant and had an abortion unless their daughter shares the information.
- If their daughter is having multiple abortions, the parents will not know.
- If their daughter is being sexually abused by an older man, and the parents are not notified of the abortion, they cannot investigate as to who the father is and therefore cannot come to the aid of their daughter. This repeal enables abuse of minor girls.
- Parents or guardians will not be able to help protect their daughters and the lives of their pre-born babies.
Gutting or repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act is unacceptable! I opposed this bill and any and all efforts to repeal or amend laws upholding parental rights.
Next, the controversial measure to change the Illinois Health Care Right of Conscience Act allows for health-related discrimination including the legal termination of workers who do not follow COVID-19 vaccine, mask or other health-related mandates was passed . In Chicago, this translates to a drastically reduced police force.
The 1998 Health Right of Conscience Act bans discrimination against a person who declines to receive or participate in any form of health care services contrary to his or her conscience.
By the time we voted on the bill, there were more than 50,000 opponents. However, in Springfield, the people of Illinois don’t matter. The ruling class does.

In Other News
Tens of thousands of people are still waiting for a call back from the Illinois Department of Employments Services (IDES) about their benefits.
There are more than 39,000 numbers in the state’s system. Those are people waiting for a callback for help. Around 16,000 of them are having password problems.
Those with problems logging in skyrocketed after the state launched a new security system called ILogin.
The Illinois Supreme Court ruled on Oct. 21 that two taxes on guns and ammunition in Cook County violate the state’s constitution because they affect law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment right to acquire firearms for self-defense.
Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis wrote in a 6–0 decision that the taxes violate the constitution’s uniformity clause, while also pointing out that the revenue from the generated tax isn’t directed toward funds or programs that reduce gun violence.
“While the taxes do not directly burden a law-abiding citizen’s right to use a firearm for self-defense, they do directly burden a law-abiding citizen’s right to acquire a firearm and the necessary ammunition for self-defense,” Theis wrote in a 14-page opinion (pdf) filed on Thursday.

Update from the Farm
10 acres of beans left to harvest. 74 to 82 bushels per acre.
Drilled over 550 acres of cover crops to improve filtration and soil health.
Grandson Samuel harvested this fine buck on our farm.
