The state budget has grown by nearly 40% since Pritzker took office. Democrats need to stop their tax and spend cycle.
The Illinois General Assembly has been in session since January, and we have done absolutely nothing to address the kitchen table issues that are driving up the cost of living in Illinois. It’s unbelievable how this chamber conducts business for the hardworking taxpayers of Illinois. There’s no secret why everyone refers to the Capitol of Springfield as the Bad Idea Factory.
Each year, Illinois Democrats gaslight the public, lie about their priorities, and brag about how the budget is ‘balanced’. The truth is bad ideas crafted behind closed doors have destroyed the livelihood of families across our state. Bad public policy is driving people and businesses to other states that are more welcoming to conservative values. JB Pritzker owes the citizens of Illinois an apology for ruining opportunities to prosper, draining their wallets, and lying about his motives.
Bad Ideas
- For starters, JB Pritzker has enacted over 57 tax hikes and fees since taking office in 2019. This means he has drained $77 billion dollars from taxpayers and Illinois’ budget is still in dysfunction.
- Reducing LGDF rate shares have crippled local governments and forces them to increase property taxes because big government likes to be greedy with sales taxes.
- Giving criminals a ‘Get out of jail free card’ and rewarding bad behavior. The SAFE-T Act has emboldened criminals and made our communities less safe. One example would be the illegal immigrant who murdered 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in cold blood.
- The green energy scam has destroyed reliable and affordable energy. You all really believe that solar and wind energy will generate adequate baseload energy to power the entire state of Illinois.
These real-life examples are only a fraction of garbage the radical Democrats have supported.
The bottom line is families are working harder than ever to make ends meet, small business owners are holding on by a string to keep their doors open, and major corporations are fleeing to other states to save money…and JB Pritzker could care less.
Good Ideas
President Trump on the other hand, has offered federal tax relief and educational opportunities that would benefit the state of Illinois. But JB Pritzker’s TDS is causing Illinois residents to fall behind even further. JB says no to good public policy.
- Across Illinois, servers, bartenders, hairstylists, delivery drivers, and countless other workers could have more money in their pockets if Illinois adopts the No Tax on Tips and Overtime policy—but JB says NO.
- The US Congress allows manufacturers to claim a larger deduction for assets as soon as they go into service, allowing businesses to save more money— but JB says NO. Instead, he approved a bill to “decouple” state taxes on businesses from the federal government.
- The Educational Choice for Children’s Act is another federal initiative that would offer better opportunities for our young students and does not cost taxpayers a dime. This opportunity is a no brainer. It helps families award tuition tutors, specialized services for disabilities, books, transportation, and more— but JB says NO.
The more Pritzker refuses to help Illinois residents, the more people our state will see loading up U-HAUL trucks and driving across state lines.
After all, Pritzker did say “If people want to leave, get up and move”
