Newsletter from Rep. Miller: Pritzker’s Energy Crisis Brewing

Merry Christmas!

I recently filed House Bill 4237 in wake of Katie Abraham, the Illinois native who was killed by an illegal immigrant. Juan Jahaziel Saenz-Suarez, a 27-year-old Mexican national living in Urbana, was charged with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal injury crash.

The Bill: https://ilga.gov/Legislation/BillStatus?DocTypeID=HB…

This bill is aimed to immediately lock up criminal illegals convicted of a crime that results in death or great bodily harm before deporting them back to their own country. Katie Abraham would still be with us if Pritzker didn’t put illegals before Illinois citizens.

Pritzker’s Energy Crisis

The radical Democrats’ green energy initiatives have crippled Illinois’ energy supply and caused costs to skyrocket. Now, a new report warns of impending power shortages across the state. We need to be smart about energy in Illinois to ensure our residents have access to reliable, affordable power….the Green Scam is creating a crisis in IL thanks to the Democrats who are living in fantasyland.

Today’s Firestorm and the Constitution

As 2026 approaches, two conflicting mindsets are dominating the American culture. The celebration of the 250th anniversary of our country and the foundation it was built upon, and those who oppose it either because they don’t fully understand it or because they are vehemently outraged by it.

In these thoughtful remarks, delivered by the President of Hillsdale College, Larry Arn,

the distinction is clearly made:https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Imprimis_Nov_8pg_11-25web.pdf

Pritzker’s Numbers Are Going Up!– In the complaint department.

The Office of Executive Inspector General (OEIG) recently released its report for fiscal year 2025. It found that nearly 4,000 complaints of wrongdoing were received by state agencies under Governor JB Pritzker’s ‘leadership’. The report illustrated a repeated trend of misconduct involving conflicts of interest and improper secondary employment. It’s the ‘Illinois Way’, we are told and expected to accept.

Responding to the report, Pritzker said (with a remarkably straight face), ‘I want people to, if they’re doing something wrong, they should get caught’. Yeah, right.

If you were doing your job, Governor, this wouldn’t be happening in the first place.

One thing Pritzker can manage to do is find ways to cripple Illiniois. Lawmakers approved an energy bill in October that puts more emphasis on ‘alternative’ energy and marches on with closure dates for coal and natural gas power generation. A study released by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and others said Illinois will have energy shortages if this course of action continues.

This is one of two bills remaining on the Governor’s desk, and he has indicated he will sign the measure.https://www.thecentersquare.com/illinois/article_aea8b697-5785-4944-89f0-058e507a2f27.html

Illinois Students Are Dead Last On IFT’s Priority List

Now that the Queen of Chicago Public Schools is also in charge of the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), we can expect things to go downhill faster than an Olympic snow skier for Illinois’ students. She and those who subscribe to her agenda will have their thumb on all things ‘public schools’ in Illinois. This even includes keeping privately donated money out of public schools, denying students of funding for things like tutoring and special education services. The IFT’s self-serving power grab will essentially send private money donated by Illinoisans to other states, leaving Illinois students high and dry.

Even Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch admits that Illinois is ‘not even close’ to school choice legislation:

Illinois students and taxpayers will also be getting screwed by laws that Pritzker and his Supermajority Democrats passed (which will take effect January 1, 2026). Just to name a few:

HB3247 puts illegal immigrants ahead of legal Illinois residents, on YOUR dime.

HB3039 will allow 7th and 8th graders to enroll in high school courses. (Try working on getting them proficient at grade level first, Democrats.)

SB1560 will allow schools to stick their noses where they don’t belong by screening your child’s mental health.

There are some laws that appear to be pro-students and families on the surface, but the devil is always in the details, and it’s very hard not to be skeptical of Democrats’ ulterior motives based on past behavior.

Our Irresponsible Governor Continues To Encourage Violence

Immigration enforcement officials are back on the streets in Chicago, and Gov. J.B. Pritzker is again encouraging protesters to “do as you have.” He said, “I’m very proud of the way that Illinoisans have reacted to [Customs and Border Patrol] and [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], and that’s in pulling out your whistles and your phones, video everything, post it online”.

We all know that his bat signals lead to worse things than merely taking pictures.

Many others are following his lead by accusing law enforcement of being ‘lawless’, using potentially lethal chemical agents, being ‘masked kidnappers’ and disregarding protestors’ safety in general.

This is being countered by those saying that elected officials have the power to take down the temperature and discourage violence, but they are choosing to do the exact opposite.
