Rep. Miller is Fighting to Protect Our Roads from Criminal Illegal Immigrant Drivers

Springfield, IL…Recent headlines shine a light on how dangerous it is when illegal immigrants are driving without knowing how to read English. State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) said Illinois needs to do more to protect our roads from illegal drivers who don’t understand the rules of the road. Rep. Miller is Chief-Cosponsor on House Bill 4184, a bill that requires every driver in Illinois to be a U.S. citizen.
“We must enforce laws that protect Illinois citizens and prioritize keeping our roads safe,” said Rep. Miller. “We continue to see tragedies occur on roads in our communities due to illegal immigrants driving without knowledge of our laws. To keep Illinois citizens safe, we must set strict guidelines on who can obtain a driver’s license and have all applicants prove they understand English, which is why I support HB4184.”
HB4184 bans all illegal immigrants from obtaining an Illinois driver’s license. The bill also requires all drivers to prove they can read and write in English to fully understand the rules of the road in Illinois. The bill is known as “Claytons’ Law”- in remembrance of Coles County Board Member Mike Clayton and his wife Gail, who died in a crash involving a criminal illegal alien who was charged with driving under the influence and reckless homicide.
Miller continued, “We can easily prevent and deter criminal illegal immigrants from driving on our roads and putting Illinois citizens at risk, but our Governor chooses to side with criminals. Until we get serious about enforcing laws that save lives, we will continue to have unsafe communities with illegal immigrants who have been given a free pass to break our laws by JB Pritzker. Mike and Gail Clayton would still be with us if we didn’t have sanctuary state policies that let illegal criminals run freely.”

Thank you, Mary, for taking a stand for American truckers and our safety!
Congresswoman Mary Miller filed a bill to withhold highway funds from states who do not comply with federal CDL licensing requirements.
Mary and I have traveled to truck stops and have done our own inquiries. Numerous foreigners are driving 80,000-pound rigs on our highways. It is estimated that 20% of commercial drivers are VISA holders and that many of those VISA’s are no longer in compliance with US law.

Illinois To Extend More Financial Aid To Undocumented Students
A new law signed by Governor Pritzker (House Bill 460) will take effect January 1, 2026. It will allow students living in Illinois, regardless of their immigration status, to become eligible for grants, scholarships, stipends and other state funded student aid.

The bill’s sponsor, Celina Villanueva (D-Chicago, pictured below) apparently doesn’t care about the taxpayers who have to pay for her ignorant idea. She simply states, “If you live in Illinois and are pursuing higher education, you should have access to the same opportunities as your peers.”
Please define ‘peers’, Ms. Villanueva.
HB 460 expands access by removing immigration-status barriers across all resident aid programs. State data estimates that there are more than 500,000 illegal immigrants living here, with 27,000 already enrolled in a public college or university.
These same ‘opportunities’ are not extended to LEGAL U.S. citizens from other states.

State Rep. Chris Miller Slammed Democrats
“The radical Democrats keep squeezing taxes from hard-working families in Illinois to cover the rising costs of illegal immigrants,” said Rep. Miller. “We have blatant lies fed to us by Pritzker and Democrats about how state funds are being used. Unfortunately, the taxpayers have been a piggy bank for Pritzker, and he just can’t keep his hands out of their hard-earned money.”

Miller Pushes Back against Chicago Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez on Immigration
By Glenn Minnis | The Center Square contributor
(The Center Square) – Chicago Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez is pushing for an eviction moratorium while Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents remain in town. A state representative is pushing back.
In voicing his support for the growing movement being led by organizations that include the All-Chicago Tenant Alliance, Sigcho Lopez is also backing calls for rental assistance as a way of helping residents amid federal immigration enforcement efforts.
“We see the pain of people, that workers are not able to go to work,” Sigcho Lopez told The Center Square. “People are not able to go out, and this is creating harm and economic losses for everybody. People who cannot pay rent cannot pay mortgage, and I do think that we need to consider both. We need to help people at least to survive this moment.”
As a way of generating rental assistance funding, Sigcho Lopez is calling on lawmakers to more heavily tax the wealthy, something state Rep. Chris Miller, R-Oakland, said would be akin to rewarding those who have already broken the law.
“If you’re abiding by the laws of the United States of America, you have nothing to be fearful about and if you’re afraid, I’m guessing that your conscience is bothering you and reminding you that you’ve done something wrong,” Miller told The Center Square. “The only reason why anybody would be afraid is if they broke our immigration laws, they’re illegal aliens that are here from crossing the borders illegally and living here illegally.”
ENERGY

ICC approves another hike in Ameren natural gas rates. 2.3 million customers, including many homes in Downstate Illinois, are slated to pay $150 million more for the natural gas many of them use for cooking and heating. The rate hike was awarded to Ameren, the major St. Louis-based utility holding company that provides electricity and natural gas to much of Downstate Illinois.
“Illinois baseload generation has been gutted because of radical policies and fantasies that have destroyed supply and demand,” said Miller. “Our state had stable, reliable, and cheap energy but those days are long gone because of the policies that continue to chase a green fantasy. Families and businesses are already paying extremely high prices for energy and now the Democrats have turned a new page of screwing consumers over with more energy scams.”
Other Illinois customers buy natural gas from Chicago-based Peoples Gas (a subsidiary of the WEC Energy Group) and from suburban Chicago-based Nicor Gas (a subsidiary of the Southern Co.) and North Shore Gas (a subsidiary of Peoples Gas). All three firms have recently sought, or are seeking, natural gas rate hikes.
The ICC-approved rate hike for Ameren natural gas customers was announced on Wednesday, November 19.
Democrats Are Still Targeting Law Enforcement

The U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security recently held a hearing about how anti-law enforcement rhetoric is fueling violence against officers.
Shamefully, examples of Illinois government officials were used as prime examples of such language.
Governor J.B. Pritzker: “The country is becoming Nazi Germany because Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is grabbing people off the street and disappearing them”.
U.S. Representative Deliz Ramirez (D-Chicago): “ICE is a ‘terror force’”. And she went on to say, “Let me be very clear, the Department of Homeland Security, you can quote me on that, is the single biggest threat to public safety right now”.
Fraternal Order of Police National President Patrick Yoes fought back by saying, “Stop dehumanizing law enforcement… Recognize that words have consequences…That would be [priority] number one.”

Democrats Are Paying People NOT To Work. Again.
There is dignity in work.
But Democrats don’t care about that. They only care about their own power, control, and self-enrichment.
Despite a 2024 study which showed that handing people money they hadn’t worked for actually hurt them, Illinois lawmakers are doubling down and throwing another $827,272 in tax dollars at their wrong-headed idea.
The following Illinois Policy Institute article explains why this move has nothing to do with bettering peoples’ lives. It is merely a political stunt to trick people into thinking that these slick characters actually care about them (in reality only for their votes, of course).

Stop Poisoning Our Youth With Your Political Agenda
When President Trump came into office, he launched a tidal wave of executive orders aimed at ending diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and gender theory in schools.
But in early November, the Left reared its misguided head and showed that their agenda is very much alive in our educational institutions. The public education ‘sector’ is the single most left-leaning segment of employees in America. Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-to-1 in K-12 classrooms.
If these people would just keep their political activism out of the classroom, we wouldn’t have a problem.
BUT THEY WON’T.

The History Of Candy Canes
The origin of this popular holiday candy goes back to the 17th century when people would decorate their Christmas trees with cookies and sugar sticks. Originally the sweet sticks were white, but eventually they took on the shape of a shepherd’s staff, and sometime after 1900 gained their familiar red and white stripes and their peppermint flavor.
