As families across Illinois prepare for the upcoming school year, the rising cost of school supplies is weighing heavily on household budgets. While other states are stepping up to ease the burden through back-to-school sales tax holidays, Illinois Democrats have refused to offer any relief. Illinois has not had a sales tax holiday for back-to-school since 2022 and will not have one this year. State Representative Chris Miller said this:
“Democrat policies have caused inflation to drive up costs for school supplies,” Miller said. ” Every time there’s an opportunity to offer relief, Illinois Democrats stonewall tax relief for middle-class families.”
