Miller Says Pritzker’s Testimony to Congress Was Embarrassing for Illinois
SPRINGFIELD, IL…Governor JB Pritzker testified in the U.S. House Oversight Committee about Illinois’ failed immigration policies that leave taxpayers footing the bill for a myriad of services for illegal immigrants. State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) says the Governor’s testimony was embarrassing to the State of Illinois.
“Under JB Pritzker’s radical reign, Illinois has become the go-to destination for illegal immigrants, where they receive free food, free housing, free healthcare, and more – all on the taxpayer’s dime,” said Miller. “His failed leadership was on full display in Washington D.C. and he showcased to every state in the nation on how radical policies destroy the lives of working families.”
Illinois taxpayers have spent over $3 billion on illegal immigrants since 2022, not including education costs or other various services. Illinois Democrats continue to raise taxes to foot the bill for government-funded handouts for illegal immigrants. There are at least 530,000 illegal immigrants who are in Illinois, which costs Illinois taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
“I’m fighting back against the radical Democrats who are destroying our state and putting Illinois citizens last,” Miller continued. “JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson keep recklessly inviting unvetted, illegal immigrants to our state. I pledge to my constituents I will always support policies that benefit Illinois citizens and not illegal immigrants. It’s embarrassing that Pritzker is running around the country campaigning for President while Illinois is financially and morally broke. Families and businesses are leaving this state in droves because of bad policies. Pritzker is definitely not ready for prime time.”
