New Illinois Laws Going Into Effect on Jan.1 2025

On January 1st, 2025, new laws passed in the Illinois statehouse and signed into law by Gov. JB Pritzker will take effect. There are several partisan bills that Democrats thought we needed such as prohibiting employers from using E-Verify to verify employment eligibility to legally work in the United States. They also had the bright idea to amend the Illinois Crime Reduction Act to replace the term ‘offender’ with ‘justice impacted individuals’.
