Democrats Working to Further Protect Illegal Criminals in Illinois

Springfield, IL…State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) is sounding the alarm on legislation that would further protect illegal criminals in Illinois. Pritzker is adamant about passing legislation that would stop the incoming Trump Administration from implementing immigration policy in Illinois. Democrats are not wasting time as they prepare to ram through House Bill 5164. The bill has passed in the Illinois House and waits in the Senate to be called for a vote. Rep. Miller says the bill is crafted to make it almost impossible to locate illegal criminals who commit crimes in Illinois.

“Pritzker continues to compromise the safety and security of Illinois citizens by protecting illegal immigrants and helping them fly under the radar,” said Rep. Miller. “Let me be clear, HB5164 is another radical policy that puts Illinois citizens last. The Pritzker administration already spends $1 billion dollars a year to aid illegal immigrants, and they continue to waste taxpayer funds to remain a top destination state for illegals to call home.”

HB5164, if signed into law, would allow anyone to change their name after living in Illinois for only three months. Additionally, the bill would allow people to file a motion to have the documents sealed from public view. The Illinois Senate is expected to vote on this bill during lame duck session in January.

Rep. Miller continued, “It’s bad legislation like this that entices innocent families to leave Illinois so they can feel safe and have a better future. Pritzker has made the decision to fight the federal government on their deportation efforts against illegal criminals, rather than fight for the great citizens of Illinois.”
