There is a lot of talk from Democrats about a strong economy, but Illinois is losing jobs. If we reduce taxes and other burdens on both job creators and residents, we can make Illinois a place filled with opportunity. It’s time we turn Illinois into a destination for growth. Poor legislation enacted by Pritzker has created a welfare state. He can say “the future is bright” but the facts point to higher unemployment rates, higher taxes, less opportunities, and less economic growth.
According to Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, reports, 1,169 Illinois workers were laid off in July. It marked the third straight month the number of layoffs has increased. Read more about jobs in Illinois here.
