Rep. Miller Visits Open Southern Border

Springfield, IL…State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) visited the southern border in Texas to see firsthand the out-of-control border crisis. The surreal experience of watching the fabric of America being torn apart has Rep. Miller sounding the alarm on the security threat to Illinois and our nation.

“Pritzker is helping the Biden administration funnel illegal immigrants into our great country with tax dollars and incentives,” said Rep. Miller. “I witnessed illegals crossing over wired barricades and border patrol agents helping them with ladders. This is an invasion on American soil, a threat to our nation, and is undermining our sovereignty.”

Democrat led cities, including Illinois, have been rolling out the red carpet to illegal immigrants and applauding the status of being a sanctuary state. That is, until it becomes a burden. Illinois is one of the top destinations for illegals to call home. According to New York City Hall, 2,369 plane tickets have been issued for illegals leaving New York to make their way to Illinois.

As of now, Illinois spends an estimated $2.9 billion per year for free services provided to non-citizens. Our state is at a breaking point, as well as residents in the communities. It’s a sobering time to enforce our laws, protect our citizens, and use taxpayer money for public services rather than funding Democrat agendas.

“Illinois resources are being drained and taxpayers are fed up with funding services to illegal immigrants,” Rep. Miller continued to say. “Communities are being turned upside down, drug cartels are being empowered, and criminal networks are expanding. The solution is simple: close the border, build the wall, enforce our federal laws.”

New York City Migrants Heading To Illinois

Even though Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson pretends to be in a panic over the influx of migrants flooding his sanctuary city, he must be sending some kind of mixed signal to New York City, because a lot of them want to come to Illinois.

New York City Hall data provided to Newsweek shows that the top destination for migrants leaving New York City is Illinois, for which 2,369 plane tickets have been issued.

Democrats can’t deal with their own bad policies. Wonder where Mayor Johnson will try to send them once they arrive in his own backyard…

Chicago Using Federal Covid $ For Illegal Migrants

In an Oscar-worthy performance portraying a poor victim, Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson announced his plan to use nearly $100 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to cover the skyrocketing tab for his sanctuary city’s deluge of illegal migrants. Intended for COVID relief, that money should be going to businesses that were forced to close, students who were prevented from attending school and those who lost their homes (just to name a few TRUE victims) due to Governor Pritzker’s tyrannical and unreasonable lockdowns during the COVID pandemic.

Deserving people will never see that money and will most likely be forced to continue to foot the bill for illegal migrants encouraged and incentivized to come to the U.S. by DEMOCRATS.

New Illinois Law Bad For Business

Of the 300 new laws that took effect January 1, one of the most burdensome on employers is Illinois’ new Paid Leave for All Workers Act. Illinois businesses that do not adhere to this new unfunded mandate will be punished with fines and civil penalties in a state that already hosts one of the country’s most hostile business environments.

Illinois’ unemployment rate is currently the nation’s third highest.

Do They Think ANYTHING Through?

Or is everything just a money-power grab for Democrats?

A proposed Illinois wind farm in Lake Michigan is one of the latest ill-conceived ideas put forward. The bill, the Rust Belt to Green Belt Act, passed in the House and is under consideration in the Senate. State Representative Marcus Evans (D-Chicago) introduced the bill in the House and sees a Lake Michigan wind farm as part of a global clean energy transition.

“We’re building the infrastructure to power the world!” he proclaimed. How dramatic.

The truth is, many of the Left’s sanctimonious plans contradict themselves. For starters, does Rep. Evans know that it takes the power of TWO diesel (AKA fossil) fueled semitrailer trucks to transport just ONE wind turbine blade? Let’s just start there.

R.I.P. DEI

When companies aren’t doing well due to crippling inflation, hiring people based on their skin color is not only a dumb idea, it sucks boatloads of money out of the budget. Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs within corporations cost an enormous amount of money for staffing, leaders of resource groups and development programs. So when corporations tripped all over themselves jumping on the DEI bandwagon after the ‘Black Lives Matter’ riots in 2020, it was only a matter of time before they realized that the whole concept was bogus. Some companies have cut their budgets for profiteering external DEI groups by as much as 90 percent in 2023, according to CNBC.
