Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train will be returning to Illinois during the upcoming holiday season, with four stops scheduled. This favorite holiday tradition features a bright light display, live music, and an appearance from Santa Claus.
The CPKC Holiday Train begins its tour of Canada and the United States on November 20 and continues through December 19. The first stop in Illinois is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, in Bensenville. Each stop on the tour includes 30 minutes of live musical performances from well-known artists. The annual tour raises money for food banks across the U.S. and Canada., and donations are collected for local charities.
Information for the four stops in Illinois:
- November 25 – Bensenville. Arrival: 6:45 p.m. Event: 7:00-7:30 p.m. Location: Adjacent to the intersection of Railroad Avenue and York Street. Performers: Seaforth and Kiesza.
- November 26 – Pingree Grove. Arrival: 8:45 a.m. Event: 9:00-9:30 p.m. Location: Village Hall. Performers: Seaforth and Kiesza.
- November 26 – Byron. Arrival: 11:45 a.m. Event: 12:00-12:30 p.m. Location: Tower Road near Byron High School. Performers: Seaforth and Kiesza.
- December 3 – Gurnee. Arrival: 5:10 p.m. Event: 5:15-5:45 p.m. Location: Viking Middle School. Performers: Tenille Townes and Breland.
Seaforth is a country music duo from Australia consisting of Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson. Kiesza is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for her dynamic music career. She rose to fame with the single ‘Hideaway’ in 2014.
Tenille Townes is a Canadian country music singer, and Breland is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer of a hybrid of country rap, R&B, gospel, and soul music.
CPKC makes a donation to a local food pantry at each stop and also encourages attendees to donate. Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage. Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5 million and more than five million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.
