Indicted former House Speaker Mike Madigan’s Chief of Staff Timothy Mapes is heading to trial this week in the latest episode of the Federal government’s wide-ranging corruption investigation.
Mapes is accused of lying to federal investigators about communications and knowledge he had of Madigan’s corrupt activities. Illinois must pass robust and sweeping ethics reforms to clean up state government and stamp out corruption.
