Miller: ‘HB3751, a disaster of a law that faces opposition from several police groups, gives foreign nationals the power to arrest US citizens’
By East Central Reporter Reports
State Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland) has voiced strong opposition to HB3751 which would grant foreign nationals the authority to arrest U.S. citizens.
HB3751 has drawn criticism from various police organizations. Miller took to Facebook to express his concerns, calling the measure a “disaster of a law” and arguing that allowing non-citizens to detain citizens would undermine the fundamental principles of the Republic.
“HB3751, a disaster of a law that faces opposition from several police groups, gives foreign nationals the power to arrest US citizens,” Miller said in a statement. “Allowing non-citizens to arrest and detain citizens is disgraceful, and completely erodes the foundation of our Republic.”
Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the law on Friday, July 28. State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet), argued the law poses a fundamental breach of democracy by granting non-citizens the power to arrest and detain U.S. citizens.
“This is just a foundational thing. I get that everybody is running away from law enforcement in Chicago because of everything the state of Illinois has done to law enforcement in Chicago,” Rose said during the debate on the bill, according to The Center Square. “But to backfill that and hand the power to arrest and detain a citizen of this state or any state in the United States to a non-citizen is a fundamental breach of democracy.”
The law goes into effect on Jan. 1. It applies to undocumented residents “legally authorized under federal law to work in the United States and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm, or who is an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm.”
The roll call vote shows Miller was joined only by fellow Republicans Dan Caulkins, Jed Davis, Brad Halbrook, Adam Niemerg, Tom Weber, and Blaine Wilhour in voting no, according to ilga.gov.
Solar At Any Cost?
Just follow the money, and everything magically falls into place. Governor Pritzker’s green energy push for Illinois smacks of hypocrisy and greed at every turn. Why? Because none of it makes sense. And when something doesn’t make sense, it’s because the truth is being concealed.
The same can be said for much of the country. Case in point: Arizona-based solar panel manufacturer ‘First Solar’ expects to receive as much as $710 million worth of subsidies rolled out by Democrats last year. This covers 90% of their forecasted operating profit and could be worth over $10 billion for the company over the next decade.

We can’t control the world market, but we can keep an eagle’s eye on our own backyard. Governor Pritzker and his co-conspirators need to be held accountable for the irresponsible behavior they are displaying and participating in.
Meanwhile, the “Oracle of Omaha” and America’s best-known investor Warren Buffett is bullish on fossil fuels. Do you think he knows something that we should all pay attention to, including Governor Pritzker?
“Late last month, Berkshire Hathaway purchased $123 million worth of shares in Occidental Petroleum. Even more interesting, over the past 18 months, Buffett has bought $13 billion worth of Occidental shares, bringing his total investment in the oil-producing giant to more than 25 percent.
Buffett has also been busy gobbling up shares of oil-producer Chevron. Berkshire Hathaway currently holds close to $26 billion in Chevron stock.
At his recent annual meeting, Buffett made it clear that he thinks oil production remains central to U.S. prosperity. “In the United States, we’re lucky to have the ability to produce the kind of oil we’ve got from shale,” he said. He also declared, “We do not think it’s un-American to be producing oil,” and vowed, “We will make rational decisions” in reference to fossil fuel investment.”

Preserve The ONLY School Choice Program Illinois Has
The Invest in Kids scholarship program offers a 75% income tax credit for contributions to scholarship granting organizations, and it’s the only opportunity Illinois offers families for school choice.
Thanks to Governor Pritzker and his supermajority Democrat legislature, (who are beholden to the teachers’ unions), the program is about to expire on December 31st.
These same Democrats sent their own children to private schools, but they’re denying that privilege to thousands of Illinois parents who can’t afford to get their children out of the state’s failing public school system.
The Illinois General Assembly needs to act in the Fall veto session to prevent this program from ending.
Illinois Is Potentially Contributing to Child Sex Trafficking
Read about my meeting with Sound of Freedom Producer Tim Ballard
States whose ADULTS continue to promote extreme ‘woke’ policies are actually invading the private spaces that are supposed to protect our children. Taxpayer-funded, sexually explicit materials are being placed in our libraries and schools, and school boards are approving sexual curriculum that is fueling a politically motivated/ power wielding/ money making agenda that should be called out for what it is- CHILD ABUSE.
WEAK.
After punishing graduate student Maggie DeJong for her outspoken conservative views, Southern Illinois University (SIU) is being ordered by the court to pay her $80,000 for their poor judgment.
The university attempted to silence Ms. DeJong after three of her whiny fellow grad students complained that her expression of religious and political views constituted “harassment” and “discrimination”.
The university violated Ms. DeJong’s 1st Amendment rights when they enforced “no-contact orders” against her and encouraged her peers to report her for “harmful rhetoric.”
SIU deserves to pay for their cowardly reaction to THREE people.
