State Rep. Chris Miller’s Statement on the “ComEd Four” Trial Verdict

Charleston… State Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland) recently issued the following statement regarding the “ComEd Four” trial, where four Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) lobbyists and consultants were convicted of bribing former Speaker of the Illinois House, Michael J. Madigan:

“Disgraced Speaker Michael Madigan built a culture of corruption during his corrupt reign in the Illinois House of Representatives,” said Rep. Miller. “Despite this blatant abuse of power, which was happening for decades, Democrats are unwilling to tackle Illinois’ corruption problem once and for all. We need strong, effective, and powerful ethics reform in this state, and the people of Illinois deserve nothing less.”

The jury recently issued their verdict on the case, finding all four to be guilty. More information can be found here.
