Springfield…State Representative Chris Miller offered the following statement regarding Governor Pritzker’s signing of redistricting legislation:
“Governor Pritzker broke his promise plain and simple. With his signing of the redistricting legislation, he betrays the voters of Illinois to whom he promised to veto any partisan maps. He ran on the idea of fair maps and an independent commission. An idea that many on all sides support. Now was the time to show some real change, but like his Democrat colleagues in the General Assembly, Governor Pritzker says one thing while his actions said another. I wish I could say, ‘I’m shocked by this news,’ but this has been the playbook time and time again in Illinois. Elected officials need to be held accountable for their actions. Governor Pritzker most of all.”
