Statement of State Representative Chris Miller on the Democrat state budget passed today on a party-line vote:
“The 2021 State budget rammed through the House today by Democrats is a direct reflection on the disastrous impact the Governor’s extended lockdown has had on our state. While scores of unemployed workers can’t access the state benefits they need, and revenues have fallen off a cliff, the new Pritzker/Madigan budget actually spends $2 billion more than last year and creates a $6 billion deficit.
Hold on to your wallets. This is a recipe for a multi-billion tax hike!”
